I know most of you have already seen this, but i had to put it up on my new site. Christin had to go to D.C. for training when she became part of the National Archive and Doug and myself tagged along for the week. Cameron surprised us with a visit up there because he had some leave from a submarine training class. We also got to hang out with our good friend Sylvia and Jason who live out there. Well, Another year and another Halloween party at the Floyds. Last year I did not attend due to our baby, or shall I say our multiple babies situation. All I will say is that it was very hard work. Christine did not attend. She still feels it is very important to maximize time with our children because our time with them when they are this small is so limited. I respect that decision and she is a much greater parent than me when it comes to those regards. I wish i had her stamina. I love you honey.

This year was my first Halloween party in the Floyds remodeled house. I have to say that the removal of certain wall made the experience so much better. Traffic flow and mingling times were greatly improved. Everyone except a few came in costume. Not only did almost everyone come in costume but they all had really good costumes. It definitely added to the festivities. Although I am a male boy and I do love the slutty outfits, I am really getting tired of all the generic slutty outfits. Slutty Policeman, Slutty Fairy, Slutty nursery rhyme girl, well, you get the idea. The floyd trio had the slutty school girl. And although my previous statement would mean that i should be apposed to their outfits, The fact that all three had the same gets my vote. Well done.

It was really nice hanging out with all my friends. It seems as we get older or our lives veer in different courses we rarely get the chance to all be together. Don’t get me wrong. Man dates are always great and I do get to spend time with all my friends in much more unique and personalized settings, but it was very enjoyable to get to have everyone together.

All in all in was a great party. I got to box Cameron in the large grown-up bounce house boxing ring. I got to spend a few moments with my original Disney friend Miss Jamie Clark. I would have loved to have Christine there but maybe next year. I left the festivities rather early but then again, like i said before, I admire my wifes commitment to our children and I do need to follow suit and participate in my roll.

So i have come to the realization that my life as the way i used to know it is pretty much over. The days of hanging out with my friends, talking about the most unimportant things and drinking heavily are done. Now all activities must be planned days in advanced. I must clear things with my lady. Not that she forbids me from going out, but there must be a certain level of respect on my part. I find myself hanging out less and less with my friends in the old capacity but a new one has emerged. My kids have friends. If i really think about it too much it weirds me out. but they have a social calender that fills up monthly. Play dates, birthday parties, Halloween parties, lets get the kids together parties. It is just ridiculous. Now I hang out with my friends and talk about the latest way of ferberizing our children. Or the recall on drugs. Or what kind of 529 college savings plan i recommend. What the hell happened here? Don’t answer that. It’s rhetorical.

Over the weekend we went to Avery’s 1st birthday party. Avery is the daughter of Nichole and Rob who where our roommates when we lived in Seal Beach. It was a really cute birthday party with all the fix ins. Unfortunately we had to ditch the Heather and Briana kids Halloween costume party. Hopefully next year the dates don’t land on the same day. Or wait. I do have twins. We can split up and make all our social engagements. I’m a genius! Anywayz. Back to the party. My kids had a great time in the ball house and i realized that they have no fear. They were in there with the big kids and having a great time. Olivia was there also with our other ex-roommates P.J. and Jen. We all ate Dave and Busters food and I even had a little Captain in me. This is when i came to the inspired idea that my 2 boys have 2 perfect girlfriend. I’m going to have to talk to Rob and P.J. about getting an arranged marriage set up. It will be perfect.

Well, I’m sure as my twins get older that there dependency will diminish a little bit. I will slowly get some of my old life back. Either that or i am just deluding myself into believing in a day that will never come. Oh well. Until next time

UPDATE!  Christine told me that my post was very negative.  I don’t mean for it to be that way.  I guess what I’m trying to say is that leading that old type of life cannot be sustained forever.  Otherwise you would be considered a loser. You know.  That 50 year old guy that drinks and parties with college studentes.  We’ve all met those guys.   I’m very happy for what i have in life and I consider myself extremely fortunate.  Most people don’t have what  I have.  Including a loving wife!

So at a recent interview with JK Rowlings when asked about Dumbledore’s love life she responded “I always saw Dumbledore as gay…Dumbledore fell in love with Grindelwald…Don’t forget, falling in love can blind us. [He] was very drawn to this brilliant person. This was Dumbledore’s tragedy.” COME ON PEOPLE! If it is not written down in the original series then it is crap. I understand that maybe this is how she thought the character ought to be. Or that she had a back story on her characters. but if she did not write it in the series then it means nothing to the story. She could say that Harry was molested by his uncle or that Hermoine masturbated with a magical dildo that came to life and indulged her intellect when turned on. I hate all this crap when people start to analyze characters way to much. Or start making up crap that was never put into the original release. Was Rowlings afraid that if she had a paragraph that Dumbledore was pillow biting with Grindelwald then she would lose buyers. Of course. you don’t want to offend young readers when your book is already a leader of converting young kids into satanic worshipers [sarcastic]. So this whole Dumbledore is a homo thing is just a bunch of crap. I am not a homophobic person in the slightest. and I really don’t think it adds or subtracts anything from my enjoyment of the Harry Potter series. I just think it is outrages to say something like this after the fact. Who Cares!

Tonight on CSPAN they did a 2 hours episode in a series on presidential libraries this week focusing on the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum. This, as many of you know, is where my wife Christine Mickey works. It was interesting show that brought some history to life. Although most of the stories that they recounted have been told to me by my wife, It was fun seeing all the footage that they played of Nixon. Tim Naftali, who is the director of the museum came off as high energy and highly intelligent indivdual who presented very well. I thoroughly enjoyed his segment when he was in College Park. Not only because there was some cool stuff there but because it is all coming to Christine. Olivia was also on the show talking about the world war 2 revolver that was given by Elvis to Nixon. Olivia is Christine’s direct supervisor. I fully recommend that everyone TIVO this on the next airing.

Today we took our kids to the pumpkin patch. It was really cute to take pictures of them with all the huge pumpkins. Last year at this time it was a completely different story. It is nice to finally take the kids out and do normal things with them. You can view the gallery here
